Introduction to Pottery Class

Class Description:
A two hour class designed to just let you play with clay and learn the basics. Great for individuals, groups, families, or couples wanting a fun activity on a Saturday morning. Class size is limited to 4-6 participants.

What we’ll do:

  • First we’ll do a quick tour of the studio so you’ll know where everything is.
  • Then I’ll demo how to throw a pot on the pottery wheel which takes about 10 minutes.
  • After that you can choose from various projects you might make. We’ll go over the steps to complete your projects and then get started.

If you want to take a spin on the potter’s wheel you can do that too. You’ll also learn basic hand building techniques that anyone can do.

You’ll relax and enjoy the creative atmosphere while getting your hands dirty and trying a craft that is centuries old. No pressure or stress, just fun and creativity!

Cost:
$90/participant and includes all clay, white glaze, use of tools and equipment, instruction and firings.
If you can pick up your pieces in 3 weeks I’ll trim and glaze them. If not I’ll let you choose from a small piece of pottery as a souvenir of your class.
